ECON 259B Public Policy Analysis

Applications of welfare and microeconomic theory and methodology to the public expenditure question: cost-benefit. Examines the effects of the taxes discussed in course 259A and sophisticated tools used in the face of these and other distortions with regard to measurement of benefits, costs, and the discount rate. ECON 200 and ECON 216 are strongly recommended as preparation. Enrollment is restricted to applied economics and finance graduate students.
