A survey of major works in classical Japanese novels and poetry of ancient and medieval times. Reading includes such works as The Ten Thousand Leaves, The Tale of Genji, The Pillow Book, The Tale of Heike, Twenty Plays of the Noh Theater. Critical approach designations: Geographies, Histories.
