Physical Education (P.E.) at UC Santa Cruz provides students with enriching opportunities to develop and refine skills across a diverse range of activities while deepening their understanding of the vital connection between fitness and overall wellness. Our program is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed, lifelong choices that support a healthy, active lifestyle.

Currently offered as elective, non-credit courses, our P.E. classes cater to students of all skill levels, from beginners looking to build foundational abilities to advanced participants seeking to refine their techniques. Each course blends expert instruction, hands-on practice, and active engagement, ensuring that every student can participate to the best of their ability.

With a variety of scheduling options, most classes meet twice a week for one-hour sessions, while others may feature longer, more immersive formats. Additionally, select courses are designed exclusively for graduate students, providing tailored opportunities for advanced learning and skill development.

Through our diverse and inclusive P.E. offerings, students not only enhance their physical abilities but also cultivate lifelong habits that support their well-being, resilience, and overall quality of life.
