Changing College Affiliation
This section describes the policy for continuing undergraduates to change college affiliation. If you are a new incoming first-year or transfer student and have not yet begun classes at UCSC, please see the Housing website for information on new student affiliation appeals.
If you want to change your college affiliation, you must submit a Petition for Change of College. This form is reviewed by staff from your prospective college. Your affiliation change will typically be approved if you are currently enrolled, are in good academic and disciplinary standing, are not a graduating senior (seniors must be affiliated with their new college for at least the two quarters prior to graduation), and have satisfied the college core course requirements of your current college. If you have withdrawn or are on leave of absence from the university, you must return to the college in which you were last enrolled for at least one quarter.
Your change of college affiliation is not official until the start of the effective quarter. Immediately following the official effective date of change, you can begin to obtain advising at your new college.
If you live on campus and would like to discuss your options for on-campus housing at a different college, or have questions about a pending housing application, please contact your housing coordinator.
If you have submitted a Petition for Change of College and have questions about the form's status, please first log into DocuSign. If you have general questions, please contact Undergraduate Advising.
