EART 114 Environmental Geophysics

Overview of geophysical methods for characterizing the subsurface, with emphasis on applications from mapping groundwater resources to imaging Earth’s crust. Topics include seismic reflection/refraction, GPS/GNSS, gravity, magnetics, resistivity, and ground/ice penetrating radar.

Requirements

Prerequisite(s): EART 5 or EART 10 or EART 20; and MATH 11B or MATH 19B; and PHYS 5A or PHYS 6A required. PHYS 5B or PHYS 6B; and PHYS 5C or PHYS 6C recommended.
