HIS 190L Topics in Indigenous History

A senior seminar course that discusses the characteristics of settler colonialism and its effects on Indigenous peoples both locally and abroad, including in the contiguous United States, Hawai’i, Canada, and Australia. Discusses violence of the colonial past and how it has repercussions into the present. Students craft their own research projects.

Requirements

Prerequisite(s): satisfaction of the Entry Level Writing and Composition requirements, HIS 100, and two additional upper-division history courses, or permission of instructor. Enrollment is restricted to junior and senior history majors. Enrollment limited to 20.
