LIT 233E Reading Plants

Human cultures have been entangled with plant life throughout our species history, yet plants and people are often siloed in separate fields of study. This graduate seminar encourages students to bring humanistic ways of knowing to bear on plant life through engagement with the plant humanities, an emerging subfield of the environmental humanities. Writing in this class takes the forms of critical scholarship, creative writing, and digital storytelling.
