PHYS 161 Quantum Materials Research Laboratory

Introduction to hypothesis driven laboratory research in the field of quantum materials. Students engage in a supportive research immersion experience, where they work on their own projects to gain training and education in experimental approaches to materials synthesis and characterization. In particular, they measure and interpret structural, electrical, magnetic, and other thermodynamic properties in target materials. Science communication are prioritized, culminating in a Quantum Materials Symposium during finals week where students give oral presentations of their research.
