POLI 160D The Politics of Global Capitalism
Explores the power dynamics, institutions, and ideas that shape the global capitalist system. Examines how states, markets, and transnational actors interact to structure trade, finance, development and globalization—and who wins or loses in the process. The course combines classic theoretical approaches with contemporary debates on globalization, inequality, economic crises, and strategic competition. Topics include the history of global capitalism, the rise of neoliberalism, trade wars, and the politics of financial instability.
