Provides students with an introductory knowledge of Punjabi language and Gurmukhi script. Develops skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Also focuses on vocabulary and grammar with the goal of engaging in conversation in real-life situations.

The second course of a yearlong beginning sequence (Punjabi 1,2,3) continues the introduction to modern Punjabi as spoken in India, Pakistan, and wherever Punjabi speakers have settled globally. Enhances skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Instruction is provided in all four language skills. Oral communication and conversation emphasized as in PUNJ 1, while reading and writing skills are developed more deeply. Students are given systematic lessons on Punjabi grammar and enhance their understanding and use of Punjabi vocabulary for communication in real-life situations. Course materials have been created primarily in Gurmukhi script. Punjabi is spoken most of the time in class. Course emphasizes developing basic communication skills using everyday vocabulary and grammatical structures in Punjabi.

Continues building and strengthening students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening of modern Punjabi as spoken in India, Pakistan and wherever Punjabi speakers have settled globally. Helps students attain and enhance competence in the four modes of literacy reading, writing, speaking and listening. Course materials have been created primarily in Gurmukhi script. Punjabi spoken most of the time in class Course emphasizes developing communication skills using everyday vocabulary and grammatical structures in Punjabi.
