ECE 168 Electric Motor Drives

Analysis of mechanical systems and motor drives. Physics-based models of common types of electric motors; dc, permanent-magnet ac, and induction. Theory of three-phase bridge converters. Average and detailed modeling and simulation of motor drive systems. In some quarters, the course will be taught in conjunction with ECE 268. Students cannot receive credit for this course and ECE 268.

Requirements

Prerequisite(s): ECE 176. Enrollment is restricted to juniors and seniors.
