LIT 87B One Great Book

Focuses on the slow, reflective reading of a single, stimulating book in the community of others. Meets once weekly for a short lecture providing context, with most of class time devoted to small-group discussion. Students assessed by small-group work in class, a group presentation, and final reading quiz. Chosen book is usually a novel; title varies every quarter and may be a classic work or a contemporary one. May be repeated for credit.
