FILM 160W Film Genres, The Western

Concentrated study of films examining the western genre and settler colonialism. Course explores the broad and changing genre of the western, while investigating how these stories engage with broader themes of settler colonial justifications and critiques. History, theory, and criticism of the genre are covered.

Requirements

Prerequisite(s): FILM 130, or FILM 132A, or FILM 132B, or FILM 134A, or FILM 134B. Enrollment is restricted to film and digital media majors and minors and proposed film and digital media majors.
