PSYC 139M Music Cognition

Seminar course examining music through the lens of cognitive psychology. While technical aspects of music will be discussed, course does not presuppose musical training or knowledge of music theory. Topics include the perception of music, the effect of music and musical training on cognitive processes, the embodiment of rhythm and dance, aesthetic experiences, music therapy, and more. Satisfies the senior seminar and senior comprehensive requirements.
